The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ is the latest upgrade in the Raspberry Pi 3 family, featuring a 64-bit quad-core processor running at 1.4 GHz. It comes with dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless LAN, Bluetooth 4.2/BLE, faster Ethernet, and PoE capability via a separate PoE HAT. Powered by the Broadcom BCM 2837 ARM Cortex-A53 64-bit Quad-Core SoC, the board delivers excellent performance while maintaining low power consumption. The GPU supports OpenGL ES 2.0, hardware-accelerated OpenVG, and 1080p30 H.264 high-profile decoding, capable of 1 Gpixel/s, 1 Gtexel/s, or 24 GFLOPs of general-purpose computing. This means that when connected to an HDTV, the Raspberry Pi 3 B+ can stream Blu-ray quality video using H.264 at 40 MBits/s. With four built-in USB ports, you can easily connect peripherals such as a mouse, keyboard, or external storage, and still expand connectivity using a powered USB hub for more demanding devices. Powering the Raspberry Pi 3 B+ is simple with a 5 V/2.5 A micro USB power supply. The device boots automatically once connected to power and can be safely shut down by turning off the system before unplugging. Its 40-pin GPIO header provides access to 27 GPIO pins, UART, I2C, SPI, and multiple voltage sources, making it a versatile choice for hardware hacking and DIY projects.
